Cherie at the Statue of Liberty in New York. 2007 started off a toast with Jean and Greg at the fire department in Perryville, Maryland. Enjoying a cool winter on the Chesapeake Bay. Greg and Cherie cracked up at the sight of the Liberty Bell. Strolled through the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. I was showered in roses for Valentine's Day in Atlantic City, New Jersey. We enjoyed the novelty of Maryland's snow (which is beautiful as long as you don't need to go anywhere.) Watched people ice-fish in the "back yard." (He must really love fish!) Reconnected with Kristi, Brian, Will and Renee in DC. Decided to "go green" for St. Patrick's Day. Celebrated St. Patrick's Day at the American Legion Post 291 in Newport Beach, CA. Visited ABC in New York. Couldn't resist New York's most famous toy store. Saw who was buried in Grant's Tomb. Watched the sunset from the Empire State Building in New York. Climbed to the base of the Statue of Liberty. (That's a replica of her toe.) Raced aboard the 63-ft catamaran Profligate during Banderas Bay Regatta in Mexico. Dressed like a pirate (with Anne and Karem) to help raise money for local Mexican children in Pirates for Pupils. Celebrated with friends at Vallarta Yacht Club. Tried to kick Brian off the balcony in Punta Mita. Enjoyed a deck party aboard Mistress, a 53-ft Swan. Explored uninhabited islands with Jean, Brian and Greg. Cooled off in an infinity pool. Let the water melt into the horizon. Said something to the effect of: "This is the life" in Mexico. Enjoyed pool-time antics with Jean. Learned how Raicilla is made in San Sebastian del Oeste. Watched my first Mexican Wrestling Match in Puerto Vallarta. Enjoyed a little sister time with sisters Stephanie, Julie and Michelle. Ate pizza with nieces Grace and Sophie. Watched Chloe turn 4-years-old. Cheered for Kylie's 4th birthday, too! Learned about trains (they have big wheels) in Maryland. Applauded the contestants in the Kinetic Sculpture Race. Thought I was dreaming when I saw a giant pink poodle. Decided to hop back across the United States inspired by an over-sized frog. Got a hug from Jet (Kristi and Brian's son) in Virginia. Admired the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. Savored a slice of heaven at Chicago's Pizzeria Uno with Greg. Ascended to the top of Sears Tower. Splashed in the fountains of Millennium Park. Wanted to bring Chicago's massive mirror bean to Burning Man. Mirror, mirror on the bean.... Had to see Mitchell's Corn Palace. The Corn Palace is corny to the point that it is completely covered in corn. Beware of over-sized prairie dogs. Patience granted us a prairie dog sighting. Lost in the Badlands. Mounted a jackalope at Wall Drugs. Stood in awe at the base of Mt. Rushmore. Tried to keep my eyes on the road during our road trip across the United States. Came face to face with Crazy Horse. Got lost in Lost Springs, Wyoming (population 1). Didn't worry about the police in Wyoming. Arrived at my friend Anita's wedding dressed as Gumby. If Anita had to wear a costume to her wedding (the poofy white dress) then everyone had to wear a costume. Poured water down the Continental Divide. Celebrated Margaret's pregnancy. Dropped by to visit Allison, Sam, Sam and Quinn. Caught up with sister Stephanie and nieces Sophie and Samantha. Chillin' with Sophie. Encouraged the Angel's to win with Beth. Visited Eva in Belgium. Went Dutch with Marjo in the Netherlands. Explored the windmills of the Netherlands in the Windmill Rally. Joined Walt and Gail on their barge in France. Cycled through the French countryside with Dutch-friend Marjo. Toasted to the "good life" aboard Walt and Gail's "Les Vieux Papillons". Investigated the ruins of a castle owned by Richard the Lion-heart. Gained inspiration at Monet's gardens with Marjo. You can't see them, but there are loads of tourists that want to snap this same shot in Monet's garden. Don't ask me how I worked this out, but yes, that's me in a fancy car in front of a castle. French pizza served with an accent. Watching Molière in the park. Relaxing with friends Pierre-Eves and Vanessa. Glimpsed my first albino peacock. (That must mean good luck!) Cherie and Greg share the first dance of the New Year. *Photo by Jean. It's crazy to think that Crazy Horse won't be completed in my lifetime. Click on each picture to see it full size.
