Would you invite Gumby to your wedding? At Anita & Ken's "Anything Goes" wedding, guests were encouraged to wear costumes. Not your typical wedding guests. The Drever wedding was held at Jim & Mel's home in Centennial, Wyoming. Centennial has a population of 100. Centennial, Wyoming. Wyoming. The drummers Pat and Becca. Kevin buzzes around with a drum. Cherie (before). Cherie (after). Presenting Plum, a "real" bridesmaid. Cousin Alex flies in from New York. More guests arrive. Gumby and Greg. Lynn had a Beary good time. Trisha, Dave and Allie thought they were in Hawaii. Ken, the groom. JoAnn and Rod get all gussied up. Kevin and Clara. This kiss won't sting. The drum circle begins. Brother Jim never imagined he'd see his sister Anita walk down the "aisle" to the beat of a drum circle. Just beat it. There's no dress code at this wedding. Hallie, the crazy cowgirl, is ready to cheer. The sun peeks through the clouds just as the bride comes into view. Anita is escorted by her father Tim, followed by Laurie shaking her maracas. Here comes the bride, bouncing to the beat of the drums. The bride is glowing; people have to put on their sunglasses. A reading from Jim and Mel. The eclectic wedding guests of the Drever wedding. Gumby snaps photos of the ceremony. Lynn and Hallie. Ken and Anita prepare to be wed by Rev. Keith. Pat and Becca. Anita can't help but laugh. Ok this is serious. Anita reads her vows. The crowd watches in silence. The rings are exchanged simultaneously. Tim and Irene, Anita's parents, smile in approval. The rings are worn on the right hand (because they don't fit on the left!) Instead of the traditional "unity candle", Anita and Ken opt for something a little different. Anita pours a "special" liquid into a bowl. Ken pours another liquid into the same bowl. The couple stirs the liquid until a chemical reaction takes place causing the substance to bubble. The new substance heats up and starts to react. Anita and Ken set the bowl on the table. The liquid turns to solid and starts foaming all over the place. The guests watch as the foam-thing grows. When it cools, the new "thing" can be used as a decorative center-piece. A chemical reaction; a chemical attraction. By the power vested in me by the Church-of-Keith, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Now that's a kiss! The couple skips off to start their new life together. Anita and Ken. Anita and Ken with bridesmaids Laurie and Plum. Anita and Laurie. Plum & Rev. Keith with the newly weds. The girls. The guests grab a glass of champagne and prepare to toast. Anita gets a present from Tom. "How'd you know I wanted antlers!" A toast to the future adventures of Anita and Ken. Sarah, Anita and Ken. Don't all vegetarians want a hunter to come to their wedding? The three doctors. It's time to eat! The tables look beautiful. Marsipan frogs for dessert. The cake is a "Greenland" cake, since that's where Ken & Anita went on their honeymoon. Time to cut the cake. Gumby grabs a seat. Cherie, Greg, Kevin and Clara. Anita and Ken with the wedding pinata. Swing batter! Hallie takes another whack! The pinata is fun for all ages. Ken pulls the pinata string. Tom swings at the wedding bell pinata. Another miss. Plum and Daryl. Daryl dressed up and wore his best Slayer shirt to the wedding. Tom and Anita. Plum, Anita, Ken & Daryl. Ken does a reading. Tim takes over the reading. The bouquet toss. Gumby and Hallie. Anita and Plum. Anita and Ken with the bees. Click on each picture to see it full size.
