424--Virginia: Kristi's Fabulous Birthday
@ CherieSpotting
Jan 31 2009 - 15:58 PST |
Brian rented his wife Kristi a limo-bus for her birthday! Kristi promptly filled it with 22 girlfriends and we headed into DC for dinner and dancing. | cherie writes: It was Kristi’s 39th Birthday and her husband Brian had an incredible idea. Wanting it to be a birthday Kristi would never forget (you only turn 39 once), Brian rented a limo-bus and invited 22 ladies to join Kristi for a night on the town.
Jean and Cherie made Kristi iron-on shirts for everyone to wear and the ladies headed into DC for a night of laughter and dancing.

423--Virginia: The 2009 Diaper Derby
@ Site News
Jan 30 2009 - 09:35 PST |
The 2009 Diaper Derby Champion is Bryce Hardy. Bryce took first place out-crawling 104 other babies! Bryce gives all the credit for his win to his amazing support system (us!) | cherie writes: Bryce Hardy’s first birthday was a day to remember. The Bryce fan-club (composed of aunts, uncles, parents, grand-parents and a brother and a cousin) headed down to the Fair Oaks Mall in Virginia to watch WMZQ’s 7th Annual Diaper Derby.
104 babies competed in 11 heats and one final race. Bryce didn’t let his fans down and crossed the finish line first in his heat, and then later in the championship crawling race.
Babies racing other babies…only in America! One baby-helper sat at either end of the mat and when the whistle sounded the babies were off! Some kids just sat there while other babies cried. A few tots scooted within inches of the finish line only to sit down and stare at their odd parents shaking everything from balloons to TV remote controls to to lure their baby across the finish line.
Check out this WMZQ Short Video and this Slideshow and don’t miss the The Hardy Video.

215--Virginia: The Hookah Hogs Reunite
@ CherieSpotting
May 23 2004 - 13:41 PST |
Cherie, Carter and Kristi sharing a hookah at a local restaurant in Virginia. | cherie writes: Some say it started in India with coconut shells. Others say it began 500 years ago in Turkey. Where is started, no one knows. But one thing is for sure—it has recently hit the USA and Americans are in “Hookah heaven!”
The hookah is a funky-looking glass-pipe that filers flavored tobacco. It’s known by many names—the hookah, shisha, and its Arabic name “narghile.” Here, the colorful device is often referred to as: “the Hubbly Bubbly.”
We all know that smoking is bad for you—but don’t worry! We didn’t inhale! I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life, but I have to admit that I’ve wrapped my lips around many a hookah.
Hookah tobacco is often mixed with honey or molasses and comes in fruity flavors like: apple, cherry and mango. (And fruit is healthy, right?)
